A research-intensive SME founded in 2009, Microbiotec opened an office in the TLS incubator in 2011. The company works in the fields of microbial biotechnology, diagnostics, vaccines and probiotics. Specifically, in 2011 it worked on the development and validation of a kit for the molecular diagnosis of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the development of a diagnostic test for vaginal infections. The company is currently working on a vaginal probiotic based on strains of Lactobacillus crispatus.
